Welcome back Betty! She provided great service to members of Galacticruise 2008 and two of Richard Hatch's cruises. We're happy to have her on the current Galacticruise team!
100 Year Starship Symposium
Next week I will be going to an exciting event, the 100 Year Starship Symposium in Orlando, Florida. It's a scientific symposium where science meets science fiction. It's all about the science of getting humanity off the earth to literally reach the stars!
Many prominent scientists, astronauts, visionairies, industry leaders and science fiction authors will be attending. This is a serious scientific event sponsored by the Department of Defense! I'll give you a report after the event!
Galacticruise 2013
Excited about the upcoming 35th Anniversay of Battlestar Galactica? I am! That's why I'm starting to plan Galacticruise 2013. This will be held either directly before or just after Galacticon 3, the thirty-fifth anniversary reunion for Battlestar Galactica fans and cast and crew members.
Galacticon 3 is being planned to take place in Houston, Texas. The cruise we're planning will be from the port of Galveston, just a few short miles away.
Many of those attending Galacticon 3 sailed on the first Galacticruise in 2008, (which I created and then turned over to Battlestar Fan Club to operate). I know that many who sailed the first Galacticruise will want to cruise again with their friends and what better time to do it than when everyone is planning to get together to celebrate with the BSG stars!
Galacticruise 2013 is currently being planned as an independent event, not associated
with Galacticon 3, although I hope to work out an affiliate agreement
with the group running Galacticon 3. That way, everyone will benefit.
